Latin American flavor meets quintessential coastal cuisine
There’s not much better than brunch, unless it’s brunch in Charleston. The Holy City is known as the mecca for all things culinary, and the already fabulous foodie destination recently added a new eatery with a fresh perspective to brunch: Gingerline.
Latin American flavors meet quintessential coastal cuisine at Gingerline. Located on South Market Street in the heart of Charleston’s Historic District, the restaurant effortlessly draws you in with its carefully-curated space, which flows perfectly into an outdoor patio overlooking the ever-so-scenic Market Street.

Fresh, local ingredients are a highlight of the menu, which includes a variety of shareable, tapas-style plates meant for enjoying a leisurely meal with friends. Some of the standout brunch dishes are both savory and sweet and include the Dulce De Leche Pancakes—which comes with sweet potato pancakes, dulce, pecans, and chili butter—Chilaquiles—which features chorizo, fried corn chips, salsa verde, avocado, lime crème, queso fresco, pickled pepper, and local egg—and Churro French Toast, which comes with house-made churro, maple crème, and bourbon maple syrup.
In addition to these brunch favorites—which includes other can’t-say-no-to items like Maple Bacon Glazed Donuts and the always delicious Avocado Toast—Gingerline also offers a number of other plates that lean heavily into its coastal location. That includes dishes like the Snapper Ceviche, Oysters, and signature Gingerline Shrimp Cocktail.

As perfectly put together as the culinary menu might be, what can’t be overlooked are the custom cocktails. Gingerline bills itself as a “cocktail destination with a food menu to match,” and the drink menu can most certainly speak for itself. That includes cocktails like Pretty In Pink, which features a strawberry-beet reduction, the Bourbon & Peach, which includes spiced peach liquer, and the Blackberry Smash, which features the flavors of blackberry, rosemary, lemon, and spiced rum. The brunch menu has its own menu of specialty cocktails, including the Yourmosa, with sparkling wine of your choice, guava, passion fruit, and orange juice, Sin Sal, which includes smoked grapefruit, lemon, and fever-tree pink grapefruit, and the ever-popular Charleston Bloody Mary, a southern staple featuring Tito’s vodka, Charleston bloody mary mix, and lime.
With so many unique cocktails and a distinctly delicious menu featuring a festival of flavors, Gingerline is a must visit while in Charleston. The eatery is open Tuesday through Thursday for lunch and dinner and brunch on weekends. Learn more or make your reservation now at gingerlinechs.com.
